Game tester salary – how much can you make?
How much you earn as a tester is entirely dependant on how much time and effort you put into it. If you treat game testing like a full time job, you will earn considerably more than if you just spend a couple of hours a week on it.
An experienced game tester with good communication skills can earn up to $90 per hour as a lead game tester. You certainly won’t be earning that much as a complete beginner, but you can certainly expect to earn a good hourly income which can increase as your experience increases.
Even as a complete beginner with no previous experience just earning $20 per hour from home, you’ll be earning over $41,000 pa if you treat it as a full time job (i.e. working 5 days per week).
An annual survey recently found that the average earning for testers is $39,063 annually, but as already mentioned the amount you earn is dependant on how much time and effort you can put in!
That’s for playing games all day – plus you will likely increase that as you become more experienced as a tester.
